Located just 30 minutes north of  downtown Dallas, McKinney, Texas is a family oriented community known for it’s slower paced environment.  McKinney is near the Town of Prosper, and cities of Plano, Frisco, Allen, and Fairview.

With an increasing number of large companies moving to North Texas, many people have chosen McKinney as home.  As people have relocated to McKinney, the city has grown to include Costco, a state of the art Cinemark, and numerous new dining options.

McKinney is also home to the Michael Johnson Performance Training facility offering training services to youth, college, and pro athletes including the Dallas Stars and Dallas Cowboys. Oh, and did you know McKinney has an ice rink?  Yup!  The StarCenter sponsored in part by the Dallas Stars offers open skating as well as youth and adult leagues.

Quaint and unique, downtown McKinney features mom and pop antique stores, an old fashioned candy store, and numerous local eateries like Spoons, Cadillac Pizza, and Emporium Pies. The original courthouse on the town square has been renovated into a playhouse which from time to time hosts well known artists for intimate performances.

If you are into swap meets and flea markets, Third Mondays Trade Days is located off hwy 380 west of hwy 75.  They are open the weekend of the 3rd Monday each month.  At this outdoor mega trade market you will find over one hundred vendors selling their wares, crafts, and foods.

McKinney is also home to Tupps Brewery where tours are offered on Saturday’s for small fee.  Tupps is preparing to move into a much larger space nearby through a joint partnership with the city of McKinney which will greatly expand their operation.  Come hang out in the taproom nightly and enjoy yard games and conversation.

About a mile from Downtown McKinney sits Hutchins BBQ, voted one of the top 50 BBQ restaurants in the world and best barbeque in North Texas. But be prepared to wait as the joint rocks on the weekends.
